Will you be traveling to Maldives this year? If yes, then the information provided below contains all that you need to get a tourist visa from Pakistan, which allows one to travel to its lovely beaches, blue lagoons, and luxury resorts.

From Maafushi’s untouched white sandy beaches to the luxury overwater villas in the Maldives’ atolls, the Indian Ocean gem of the Maldives offers a winning combination of nature, rich marine life, and friendly hospitality.

Additionally, for travelers from Pakistan, the experience is further facilitated thanks to the Maldives’ friendly visa-on-arrival policy, which further enhances the country as a desirable destination now more than ever.

Do Pakistanis need a visa to enter the Maldives?

For Pakistanis, no preregistration of an application is required. Pakistani nationals can obtain a 30-day free tourist visa upon arrival at the Malé Velana International Airport. The facility is universal and is a reflection of the tourist-friendly and liberal policy of the Maldives.

Tourist visa-on-arrival process

The process is easy; however, travelers must ensure that they fulfill the requirements before departure. Below is a detailed step-by-step guide.

Steps to obtain your visa-on-arrival

  • Immigration authorities will process your visa after verifying your documents after you arrive at Velana International Airport (Malé)
  • Provide your original Pakistani passport that must be valid for a minimum of six months from the entry date.
  • Provide your confirmed resort or hotel booking, which is necessary for accommodation verification.
  • Show evidence of having enough funds. The  Maldives Immigration charges a minimum of USD 100 and a further USD 50 per day of stay. Acceptable proof can be offered in the form of bank statements, cash, or credit/debit cards.
  • Provide a return or onward ticket to ensure you intend to leave within your allowed stay.
  • Provide the Traveler Declaration Form. This also has to be done online within 96 hours of arrival and departure. It is obtainable here.

Required documentation

  • In traveling from Pakistan to the Maldives, carry the following documents with you for a hassle-free visa-on-arrival:
  • Original Pakistani Passport with at least six months’ validity from the entry date.
  • Clear photocopy/scan of passport bio page, retain digital copy.
  • Verified hotel or resort reservation, paper document, or email reservation
  • Onward or return flight ticket
  • Documentation of adequate financial resources (USD currency, bank statement, or credit/debit card).
  • Completed Traveller Declaration Form, internet submission
  • Valid e-mail address for form confirmation.
  • In rare cases, immigration officers can ask for evidence of travel insurance or a letter of invitation if a person is travelling with a Maldivian citizen.

Stay ahead of immigration matters

  • Double-check everything; any inconsistency between your passport and booking details can cause delays.
  • Fill out the Traveler Declaration Form at least 24-48 hours before your travel.
  • It is better to carry hard copies of your hotel booking, return ticket, and e-form confirmation with you.
  • Ensure your passport has more than six months’ validity; otherwise, it may be rejected.
  • Take both cash and a credit card, as card networks may be off in island resorts.
