On this occasion, Malaysia reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian people. Malaysia acknowledges and empathizes with the long-standing struggle of Palestine for its freedom and sovereignty. This year marks the 44th anniversary of the day ever since the UN declared it as such.
Just Palestinian Cause and Unlawful Israeli Atrocities
Palestine seeks a peaceful solution for its just cause and rightful freedom by ending the unlawful occupation of Israel. This day is a painful reminder of the incapability of the international community to put a stop to the apartheid agenda of Israel to date.
In the statement, the Malaysian Foreign Minister stressed that the brutality and aggression perpetrated by Israel against the innocent people of Palestine must be stopped. It is the moral responsibility of the world to put a stop to Israel’s violence.
Israel must be held accountable because of the endless war crimes it has committed over the years of its illegal occupation of the country. The crimes include forceful evictions, blockade, land confiscation, denial of basic civil rights, racist and discriminatory policies as well as other inhumane acts.
Saifuddin Abdullah enunciated that Malaysia will continue to support the just agenda of Palestine at the bilateral, regional, and international levels, respectively. It will support the rightful aspiration of Palestinian people for freedom along with the realization of a sovereign Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
