Kuala Lumpur, 17 April 2023 (TDI): Malaysia firmly condemns the ongoing clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which have caused enormous suffering and the deaths of innocent people.

Malaysia, in the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, urges all parties to immediately halt hostilities and display maximum moderation, reflecting the Islamic teachings of peace and compassion.

Both parties should settle their disputes peacefully and avoid measures that might escalate tensions in the country.

The only way to restore peace and security in Sudan is via meaningful communication and agreements.

Malaysia urges all parties to emphasize civilian safety and security and to collaborate in establishing a peaceful and stable environment in which all Sudanese can live and develop.

Malaysia is in sympathy with the people of Sudan and will continue to support efforts to end the conflict durably and peacefully.

During this difficult time, we pray for the well-being and safety of the people of Sudan.
