Libya received China’s Sinopharm vaccines

-

Tripoli, 3 August 2021 (TDI): Libya received a batch of China’s Sinopharm vaccines on Monday and to continue the country’s immunization program.

The country’s Health Minister Ali Zanati and Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah held a joint press conference on Monday at the arrival of the vaccines.

The PM stated that the vaccine is the only way to stop the virus. The health minister said that the infection rate has dropped from 68 percent to 24 percent thanks to the recently imposed protective measures against the virus, which include banning public gatherings and public transportation, and imposing a curfew.

The government has recently launched an immunization program campaign against COVID-19, under which people above the age of 18, whether Libyans or foreigners, can simply go to temporary vaccination centers to get vaccinated.

The country has registered a cumulative total of 258,467 COVID-19 cases so far, including 194,217 recoveries and 3,609 deaths, according to the National Center for Disease Control.
