Abu Dhabi, 28 January 2023 (TDI): The book launch ceremony of the debut novel of Muhammad Ali Bandial was held at the Pakistan House, Abu Dhabi, today. The book is titled “I dream of rain” and was nominated for Emirates Literature Festival 2023.
Muhammad Ali Bandial is a young Pakistani author. The Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Faisal Niaz Tirmizi was also present at the book launch ceremony.
While speaking at the event he admired Muhammad Ali Bandial for his creative writing. In this vein, the Ambassador expressed that Pakistan has tremendous literature in the National as well as regional languages of the country.
He went on to further add that “It is heartening to note that English Language literature is also being produced by Pakistani authors and is being appreciated all over the world.
While we are strong in our national and regional language literature, the English language ensures wider reach.” Also, he added, “Prose and poetry is an effective medium to share and live your culture and traditions with rest of the world.”
“Pakistan’s cultural history is more than 7,000 years old. The land has hosted Indus Civilization and Gandhara Civilization.
The land is home to Moen-jo-Daro and Harappa Civilizations, the Buddhist monastery Takht-i-Bahi, and Mughal Gems like Badshahi Mosque, and Lahore Fort.
Five of the world’s over 8000 meters peaks are in Pakistan. There are over 70 languages spoken in the country. These languages carry with them a treasure of literary masterpieces.

I encourage young writers to take inspiration from these rich historic and cultural traditions and preserve them through their writing.”
It is pertinent to note that the book launch event was attended by Ambassadors and diplomats, and members of the business as well as the media community in large numbers.
