Seoul, 24 October 2022 (TDI): Jeenbek Kulubaev the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Korea, Park Jin on 23 October 2022.

The former is on an official visit to the Republic of Korea. The summit was part of his working visit to the East Asian country.

Kyrgyzstan and South Korea are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the founding of diplomatic relations. Along with it, the countries are also celebrating the fifteen years partnership of the Central Asia-Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum.

The relationship between both states is based on friendship, trust, and mutual respect throughout the tenure.

The agenda of the meeting was to further explore the ways to develop collaboration and partnership in ongoing and new sectors. The representative of both states expressed their views and outlooks.

Comments of Interlocutors

The Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed his gratification and appreciation to the counterpart on the completion of 30 years of a cooperative relationship.

He stated that during the period bilateral relations were based on traditional companionship, the spiritual and cultural closeness.

The principles of mutual assistance and cooperation were core foundations. The partnership led to great success in many sectors.

Jeenbek Kulubaev intended to explore further prospects for promoting the potential for trade and economy between the two states.

He showed keen interest in enhancing trade, particularly the export of environmentally friendly products. He also suggested launching several projects within the Official Development Assistance.

The Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan further stated that there is a need to bring investment cooperation to a higher quality level in the near future.

He demonstrated hope that South Korea will carry on its sustenance to the Kyrgyz Republic in promoting a business favorable environment.

The Kyrgyz Foreign Minister emphasized further enhancement and strengthening of mutually beneficial ties and a new level of interaction between countries.

In addition to the economy, trade, & investment, both representatives also seek to explore the enhancement of cooperation in other multiple sectors including cultural & humanitarian assistance, healthcare & medicine, education, environment, & digitalization.
