Kuwaiti Minister sends condolences on the death of Colin Powell

Kuwait, 19 October 2021 (TDI): Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, Ahmed Nasser Mohammed AlSabah expresses his condolences to Colin Powell’s family and friends, as well as to Secretary Blinken and the American people.

On Monday morning, the former top military commander died. Powell died due to Covid-19 complications, according to his family. He had been vaccinated and treated at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland when he died.

According to a Spokesperson, his immune system had been weakened by multiple myeloma. He was supposed to get a booster injection for his vaccination last week, but he became sick, so he had to postpone it. He had also been treated for the early stages of Parkinson’s disease.

Colin Powell was the 65th Secretary of State of the United States, serving from 2001 to 2005. He was an American politician, diplomat, statesman, and four-star military. He was the United States’ first African-American Secretary of State. As well, he was in charge of delivering the US speech at the Security Council meeting on the Iraq intervention.
