Islamabad (TDI): King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has completed the first phase of its project that empowers vulnerable households through providing them with livestock.
In the first phase, 1,000 households from Lower Chitral, Upper Chitral, Lower Dir, and Upper Dir, received a livelihood support package consisting of two vaccinated goats, four bags of silage, and training provided by the Livestock Department to generate income from keeping livestock.
The first phase, implemented by Peach and Development Organization in collaboration with the Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department (RRSD), and PDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, set out to build economic resilience and improve food security for vulnerable households.

Across four districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 7,250 individuals have benefited from the program so far. As the initiative moves forward, KSrelief is also planning Phase II and III of this project.
The upcoming phases will focus on supporting vulnerable households in Swat, Swabi, Haripur, and Mansehra with poultry packages, including 25 poultry birds per family along with a complete poultry kit and training on poultry management and income generation.
Additionally, families in Charsadda, Mardan, and Nowshera will be assisted with cattle, silage, and hands-on training in animal care and dairy production to strengthen their livelihood opportunities.

As flash floods hit the country this year in the monsoon season, KSRelief focused its community support work toward aid delivery to far flung villages of Punjab and KP. In multiple phases, relief packages were delivered to hundreds of families.
Now as the floods’ response turn to reconstruction, the foundation is looking to uplift families through sustainable incomes. In areas were employment is scarce, interventions with small-scale livestock and poultry businesses has been the tried and tested way of empowering communities.
Through these phased interventions, KSRelief is promoting self-reliance, improved nutrition, and long-term economic stability; especially in KP’s vulnerable regions.
