BEIRUT, (TDI): The Israeli army claimed on Saturday that it has killed Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in an overnight attack on Beirut’s southern suburbs.
“Hassan Nasrallah is dead,” said Israeli army spokesperson Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani on the social media platform X.
Earlier, media reports say that Nasrallah was unreachable following the strikes on Friday evening, while Iranian media stated he is “alive.”
Meanwhile, Channel 12 reported that Zainab Nasrallah, Hassan’s daughter, was also killed in the significant airstrike targeting Hezbollah headquarters. However, there has been no official confirmation of her death from either Israeli or Lebanese sources.
Zainab has been a vocal advocate for Hezbollah, publicly honoring her family’s sacrifices.
She previously discussed her brother’s killing by Israeli forces in 1997, noting that her family chose to celebrate his sacrifice instead of mourning. “When my brother Hadi was martyred, my parents did not shed a single tear,” she stated in a 2022 interview with Al-Manar TV.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned Israel’s actions, describing the strikes as a “flagrant war crime” that highlights the nature of Israel’s state terrorism. His statement was carried by the official IRNA news agency early Saturday.
Earlier on Friday, the Israeli army targeted Hezbollah’s main headquarters, reportedly located beneath residential buildings in the heart of Beirut’s southern suburbs.
Iranian and Israeli media noted that Hassan Nasrallah was one of the key targets of the strike.
