Islamabad, 21 February 2023 (TDI): Dr. William Ruto, the President of Kenya, spoke on the phone with Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The two leaders talked about issues of shared interest as well as bilateral cooperation.

The Prime Minister emphasised the importance that Pakistan placed on its relationships with Africa and expressed Pakistan’s fervent desire to deepen its long-standing ties with Kenya in all areas of cooperation.

The Prime Minister brought up the late Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif, who was murdered in Kenya, during the call.

In this vein, the President received a thank you from the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the assistance given to Pakistani investigative teams thus far.

It is pertinent to note that the late Arshad Sharif’s case was highlighted by the Prime Minister as being of utmost importance to Pakistan.

Along these lines, he requested additional cooperation from the Kenyan side during the course of the investigation in order to put an end to the matter for the family and people of Pakistan.

Lastly, the Kenyan President gave the Prime Minister a guarantee of his full cooperation and support in the matter.
