Astana (TDI): Kazakhstan has once again urged world powers to revive high-level nuclear disarmament talks and strengthen multilateral cooperation to ensure global stability.

Speaking at the Astana Think Tank Forum 2025, First Deputy Foreign Minister Yerzhan Ashikbayev called for “a world without nuclear weapons” to remain a defining goal of the 21st century.

Under the theme “From Polarization to Partnership: Restoring Trust in the International System,” the forum gathered 40 international experts from 20 countries, including diplomats and think tank leaders.

Ashikbayev emphasized Kazakhstan’s support for building a unified Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian security community, while also pushing for UN Security Council reforms to give greater representation to nations in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

Highlighting digital sovereignty, he called for a global AI governance framework to ensure fair, inclusive access to technology. Kazakhstan, he said, stands ready to help shape international AI standards.
