Kazakhstan Expands Electronic Border Queue System to Kyrgyz Frontier

Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia

Astana (TDI): Kazakhstan has started rolling out its CarGoRuqsat electronic queue system at border crossings with neighboring countries in a move designed to modernize and streamline freight transport.

The system lets transport operators book border crossing times in advance, either online or via a mobile application, helping to reduce congestion and make scheduling more predictable.

The initiative has been met with optimism by Kyrgyz freight operators, who have long complained of multi-day delays at border crossings, particularly those transporting perishable agricultural goods.

Officials expect the new digital platform to ease these backlogs and boost the efficiency of regional logistics.

CarGoRuqsat is part of Kazakhstan’s broader border digitalization program, covering its crossings with fellow members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)—Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.

The system is already functional on borders with China, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan.

Since its introduction, more than 500,000 trucks have passed through 33 checkpoints using CarGoRuqsat, highlighting its growing role in improving trade flow and transparency.

A similar approach is also being adopted elsewhere in Central Asia. On the Kyrgyz–Uzbek border, authorities have recently launched an Electronic Queue Management System (e-QMS) at the Dostuk checkpoint, the main crossing between Osh and Andijan.

Like CarGoRuqsat, the Kyrgyz-Uzbek e-QMS allows drivers to reserve crossing slots digitally, cutting wait times, reducing congestion, and improving the reliability of transit operations.
