Sao Paulo, 26 August 2023 (TDI): The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Kairat Umarov attended the round table event, organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Brazil on August 24, in Sao Paulo. The event was aimed at enhancing trade and investments between Kazakhstan and Brazil.
The event took place under the subject of “Brazil-Kazakhstan: investment and trade opportunities”.
The event was organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Brazil with the cooperation of the Investment Promotion Agency (InvestSP) and the Administration of the state of Sao Paulo for the representatives of business circles and economic associations of Brazil.
The event was attended by a wide number of Brazilian companies, including the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (CNC), the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), and the Association of Fruit Producers and Exporters (Abrafrutas).
The Confederation of Agricultural Producers and Livestock Breeders (CNA), the Association of Beef Exporters (ABIEC), the Embraer aircraft manufacturer, the food Minerva Foods, the mining company Vale and many more Brazilian companies attended the event.
Besides the Brazilian companies, the Kazakh companies also attended the event and their representatives made presentations and discussed the possibilities of further cooperation with Brazilian companies.
Also, during the round table meeting views were exchanged on the issues of increasing the supply of goods from Kazakhstan to Brazil.
During the event, the official representative of Kazakh Invest in North and South America, Galymzhan Mataev, made a presentation on the investment opportunities in Kazakhstan, measures of the state for supporting foreign investments, and diversification of transport routes and supply chains.
The presentation by Galymzhan Mataev attracted great interest from the participants of the meeting.
During the round table meeting, conditions for increasing the supply of Kazakh fertilizers to Brazil were also discussed.
In this regard, the Kazakh companies, Kazphosphate LLP and Kazazot JSC, virtually presented and discussed with the Brazilian companies the possibilities of further cooperation in the supply of their products to Brazil.
At the end of the round table meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Association of Economic Lawyers of BGI Brazil and National Company (NC) Kazakh Invest.

Other Engagements
In an effort to enhance trade and investment ties between the two countries, Kairat Umarov also held a meeting with the Vice President of the National Industrial Confederation (CNI), Gilberto Petri.
In the meeting, Kairat Umariv discussed the implementation of the agreements reached following the second meeting of the Kazakh-Brazilian Business Council, held in Astana on April 13, 2023.
Moreover, the Brazilian side presented a number of new projects that could be of some interest to Kazakh companies.
Finally, at the end of the visit, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kairat Umarov also took part in the official opening ceremony of the first Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan in Sao Paulo.
The event was attended by representatives of state bodies, political, civil and business circles of Brazil, as well as by local media.
