Ashgabat, 25 October 2021 (TDI): Kazakh President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. This meeting took place during Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s official visit to Ashgabat.
The President of Kazakhstan thanked his Turkmen counterpart for the invitation. In turn, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for accepting the invitation and visiting Turkmenistan. The summit talks were preceded by an official welcoming ceremony at Independence Square. The national anthems of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan were performed. Then Presidents of Both countries walked around the guard of honor. They introduced members of the Official Delegations to each other.
Kazakh President mentioned that Kazakhstan has great respect for the neutral status of Turkmenistan. It is hopeful for the further development of the strategic partnership between the Nur sultan and Ashgabat.
At the end of the ceremony, a narrow format meeting took place. The Heads of State discussed a wide range of issues of the Kazakh-Turkmen strategic partnership. They paid special attention to building up political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation. The issues of the global and regional agenda were also touched upon. Moreover, both parties stressed strengthening bilateral relations in the future.
