Nur Sultan, 12 October 2021 (TDI): The head of the Slovakian Foreign Ministry, Ivan Korcok paid a visit to Kazakhstan along with his delegation.
Ivan Korcok met with the President of Kazakhstan, Qasym Jomart Toqayev. The main and important topics of discussion revolved around the current political situation. Both the parties shed light on the chaotic state of Afghanistan. Along with its impact on Central Asia. The importance of expansion of cooperation under official development aid was also highlighted. That is becoming increasingly relevant in light of the deterioration of the situation in Afghanistan and its impact on neighboring countries.
Both parties talked that such collaboration would serve both the interests of the two countries. Along with the previously stated political principles of Kazakhstan’s and Slovakia’s leadership. Despite the pandemic, the parties highlighted that bilateral trade expanded by 62 percent in 2020. And by another 12 percent in the first half of 2021 compared to the same period in 2020 (up to $37 million).
