Jordan Strongly Slams Fresh Israeli Attack on Civilians

Amman (TDI): Jordan has strongly condemne the fresh Israeli attack on civilians, targeting a residential building in Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip, calling it a “new massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces.”

At least over 40 women and children  among 88 people lost their lives in two Israeli airstrikes on Tuesday, officials said.

“This attack resulted in the deaths and injuries of hundreds, with many still missing under the rubble, constituting a blatant violation of international law and a systematic disregard for the lives of Palestinians amid a complete absence of international accountability for the war crimes committed against them,” state news agency Petra reported, quoting a statement issued by Jordan’s foreign affairs ministry.

In the statement the ministry said Israel’s ongoing violations against Palestinians and its breaches of international law and international humanitarian law reflected a global failure to strictly enforce legal standards.

“Persistent impunity and lack of effective accountability” has encouraged Israel to continue with its violations, it added.

Jordan urged the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to take immediate and effective action amid Israel’s systematic policy of committing “war crimes and genocide” against the Palestinian people.
