 Joe Biden Remarks After Last US troop departed Afghanistan

Washington, 1 September 2021 (TDI): On Tuesday, after the last US troops left Afghanistan’s soil, President of USA Joe Biden delivered a speech in White House, Washington DC.

President Biden defended his decision of withdrawing troops by stating that his decision was in the best interest of the people of America. He declared the evacuation as one of the biggest airlifts in history. He stated that the US assumption about the strength of the Afghan government and security was not so accurate but he had already prepared his officials for any extraordinary situation in Afghanistan. With that, He praised the bravery and skills of American professionals and military officers who rendered their full service for the evacuation activities. He also honored the 13 servicemen who died in the Kabul bomb attack last week.

President Biden made it clear that the United State of America will continue to support the people of Afghanistan through international institutions, effective diplomacy, and humanitarian aid.

The USA started its evacuation activities 17 days ago. US has successfully evacuated around 1,20,000 people including diplomats, allies, Afghan citizens who served the US, military officers, and intelligence professionals.
