Islamabad (TDI): Senator Dr. Shahzad Waseem hosted a reception at his residence to welcome and honour the Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan Akamatsu Schuichi.
During the meeting, Senator Waseem praised Ambassador Akamatsu for his proactive role since assuming office, particularly his hands-on approach to public engagement and commitment to development initiatives.
The Senator highlighted the ambassador’s involvement in projects ranging from infrastructure to human capital development, noting that the recent Pakistan–Japan Human Resources Stakeholders Meeting marked a meaningful step toward strengthening workforce collaboration between the two countries.
Speaking about the broader bilateral relationship, Senator Waseem described Pakistan and Japan as long-standing partners, bound by mutual respect and democratic ideals.

He thanked Japan for its continued assistance in areas like education, infrastructure, and disaster management.
