Islamabad (TDI): The 6th International Young Diplomats School (IYDS) concluded on Thursday, with a visit to the British High Commission, where the participants were received by the Deputy Head of Mission, Martin Dawson.
Participants engaged in an interactive discussion with Dawson, who offered valuable perspectives on the UK–Pakistan relations and areas of potential cooperation in governance, education, development, and people-to-people engagement.
The participants were curious about the work of the High Commission and how it furthers UK’s diplomatic outreach in Pakistan. Dawson answered their questions in detail and showed great interest in learning about the aspirations of the participants.

As the 6th edition of IYDS, organized by the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS), officially concluded, this final session marked the culmination of a three-day journey of diplomatic learning and global exposure.
Throughout the last day, participants interacted with multiple embassies and international organizations, gaining deeper insights into foreign policy, global cooperation, and international development.
Earlier, at the Thai embassy, the Ambassador distributed certificates among the participants for their active engagement, and wished them luck in pursuing various roles in diplomacy and leadership.

As the school kickstarted on Tuesday, the participants visited the embassies of Austria, Russia, Zimbabwe, and Nepal, in addition to visiting the office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The next day began with a visit to the Embassy of Kazakhstan, where the Ambassador briefed them on the recent history of Pakistan-Kazakhstan relations and how both countries aspire to take the partnership forward.
On the third and final day, the group visited the delegation of the European Union (EU) in Pakistan and had a good interaction with the Ambassador, about the EU’s work in governance, rule of law, climate action, and human rights.
The participants also visited the embassy of the Philippines before concluding the school with the British High Commission visit.
Established in December 2008, The Diplomatic Insight is Pakistan’s premier diplomacy and foreign affairs magazine, available in both digital and print formats.
