Islamabad, 6 September 2023 (TDI): Andreas Ferrarese, the Italian Ambassador to Pakistan, called on Chairman Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani at the Parliament House today.

During the meeting, they discussed mutual interests, with a particular emphasis on current regional dynamics and energy-related issues.

The Chairman of the Senate highlighted the friendly relations between the two countries and expressed the need to strengthen bilateral ties even further.

Furthermore, he advocated for diversifying energy sources beyond traditional methods, emphasizing the untapped potential of solar and wind energy within Pakistan.

Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani also pointed out the expertise of energy professionals in Italy and extended an offer for collaboration to explore alternative methods of electricity generation in Pakistan.

Given the increasing impacts of climate change, the Chairman emphasized the global necessity to transition towards clean energy generation.

The meeting concluded with a mutual dedication to strengthening trade and economic relations between Italy and Pakistan.

Moreover, Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani offered an invitation to Italian companies to take advantage of the investment opportunities present in Pakistan.

He highlighted investment opportunities within the mineral sector, especially in Balochistan, which could benefit Italian investors.

Pakistan holds its relationship with Italy in high regard and aims to elevate cooperation across multiple areas, with a particular emphasis on economic collaboration, he affirmed.

The meeting culminated with a mutual commitment to strengthen parliamentary relations to promote a deeper and more robust bilateral engagement.

Similarly in the previous month, the Italian Ambassador to Pakistan met with Dr. Gohar Ejaz, the Caretaker Federal Minister for Commerce and Industries and Production.
