Islamabad, 6 August 2021 (TDI): The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Islamabad, Hamid Abbas Lafta called on Khalid Memon, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Middle East Affairs on Thursday.
During the meeting, the two dignitaries discussed bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iraq. They also conversed about the upcoming visit of Iraq’s Foreign Minister, Fouad Hussein to Pakistan and negotiated preparations for the same.
Moreover, they shed light upon coordination and cooperation between the two states in different fields.
The two dignitaries stressed the need of activating the Iraqi-Pakistan joint committee and signing two memoranda of understanding in the field of political consultation, and the issue of exemption from entry visas for holders of diplomatic, service, and special passports.
