Iran’s President Pezeshkian to Visit Pakistan on July 26

Islamabad (TDI): Iran’s President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian will visit Pakistan on July 26, 2025, marking the latest steps in efforts to deepen ties between the two neighboring states.

This trip builds on a series of high-level exchanges that have taken place since Pezeshkian became the President in mid-2024.

At a press conference, the Iranian government’s spokesperson described the upcoming presidential visit as a sign of the significance that Iran attaches to its relations with Pakistan.

He noted that the bilateral ties are based on shared historical, cultural, and religious understanding and mutual respect. The diplomatic contacts between both states have increased following the United States and Israeli regime’s aggression against Iran.

Analysts now see renewed diplomatic trips as a part of Iran’s efforts to stabilize regional ties and reassure neighbors.

Prime Minister Sharif is expected to welcome President Pezeshkian upon arrival in Islamabad. Beyond talks on security and trade, the visit is likely to open discussions on cooperation in transport, energy, and cultural exchange.

It also comes amid Iran’s wider regional diplomacy as Pezeshkian represented the country at the ECO summit in Azerbaijan in early July and visited Russia in January to sign a 20-year “comprehensive Strategic Partnership.”

Moreover, analysts see President Pezeshkian’s July trip as a key opportunity for both countries to strengthen ties when both face shared challenges, from security threats to international sanctions.

Furthermore, officials in both countries highlight that enhancing cooperation between the two states can help build stability in South Asia, and can support shared economic and security goals.

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Naqvi discussed the upcoming visit with his Iranian counterpart during a telephone conversation. The Iranian minister thanked Naqvi for his recent visit to Iran. He also expressed condolences over the loss of lives and property during the recent floods in Pakistan.
