Tehran (TDI): Iran has agreed to hold a fourth round of nuclear negotiations with the United States on Sunday in Oman, Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said on Friday, adding that the talks were advancing.
President Donald Trump, who withdrew US from a 2015 agreement between Iran and world powers meant to curb its nuclear program, has threatened to attack Iran if no new agreement is reached to resolve the long unresolved dispute.
Western nations say Tehran’s nuclear program is geared toward producing weapons, whereas Iran insists it is purely for civilian purposes.
Aragchi said that the talks are moving forward, and the more consultations and reviews are required.

He said that the delegations need more time to evaluate the situation and examine the issues that are raised. But talks are on a forward-moving path and gradually entering into the details.
The fourth round of indirect talks, initially scheduled for May 3 in Rome, was postponed, with mediator Oman citing “logistical reasons.”
