Tehran (TDI): Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, met the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Takht Ravanchi, at the Iranian Foreign Ministry and wished Iran success in the ongoing nuclear talks with the United States.
The Ambassador also signed condolence book on behalf of Pakistan, for the people who lost their lives in the Bandar Abbas explosion. He assured Iranian Deputy FM that Pakistan stands with Iran in this difficult time.
In addition, both dignitaries discussed how the age-old ties between Pakistan and Iran can be further strengthened.

Ambassador Mudassir briefed Deputy FM Ravanchi about the regional developments following the Pahalgam attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir. He apprised the Iranian official on the quickly changing scenario and the risk of escalation.
Following the explosion that took place at Iran’s largest commercial in Bandar Abbas, Pakistan Embassy in Iran postponed a National Day celebration event scheduled for April 30.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, spoke to their Iranian counterparts and expressed condolences.
In conversation with the Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, PM Shehbaz expressed shock over the port explosion and prayed for recovery of the injured.
Meanwhile, DPM/FM also took to X and wrote, “Deeply shocked to learn about the explosion at Shaheed Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas, in the brotherly country of Iran.”

“Our heartfelt prayers for the departed souls, the swift recovery of the injured, and strength to the bereaved families. Pakistan stands firmly with Iran in this hour of immense grief and is ready to extend any assistance,” he added.
Two days after the explosion, firefighters are still struggling with some active fires at the port. A complete estimate of the damage cannot be assessed yet.
Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has also ordered a probe into the possible negligence that led to this unfortunate disaster.
Meanwhile Iran and the United States are having nuclear negotiations; the third round of which was held in Oman and heads of respective delegations expressed “cautious optimism” after wrapping up the Oman round.
