International Labor Organization urges to end child labor

Geneva, 22 September 2021 (TDI): International Labour Organization (ILO) shared news which says there is no place for child labour in 2020. The organization has shared the thoughts of UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres on their Twitter page that says “In the present world there is no place for Child labour. This year is the International Year to end child labour and it is also an opportunity to increase efforts to terminate this harmful practice.”

They also shared a link of the international year for the elimination of child labour with the news. It will help you to know how to take action against child labour. The link has two ways to take action against this harmful action; stakeholder and individual action.

In the stakeholder action, people have to choose a definite action that subsidizes eradicating child labour and also an action that can be completed by December 2021. These actions are known as 2021 Action Pledges and it is going to “pave the way to eliminating child labour by 2025”. The page says that they are expecting thousands of 2021 Action Pledges. According to the page, the stakeholder action is based on a “three-pillar strategy i.e. Act, Inspire, and Scale-up”.

In the link, they encouraged every individual to take part in achieving this goal. As they have mentioned on their website that everyone has a tendency to make a difference and every person can make individual choices. For instance, individuals can demand their government to take action against child labour and they can also raise funds to remove this from the country. Individuals have the power to transform the world if they start working together. They can transform the International Year into a sustained global movement for children.
