Islamabad (TDI): The 11th batch of “Friends of Police” program organized by Islamabad Traffic Police officially kicked off on Thursday.
30 students from Iqra University are participating in this batch, who will receive training on various aspects of traffic laws, road safety and policing.
On the special instructions of Chief Traffic Officer Capt (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider, the students visited Traffic Headquarters Islamabad on the first day where they were briefed on the working procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of Traffic Headquarters.
The ITP Education Wing took the participants to various departments of Traffic Police, including Licensing Branch, Central Control Room, Education Unit and other key departments.
The participants were also briefed on modern technology-enabled traffic management systems, digital licensing, and automated fine collection system.

The Friends of Police, while appreciating the technical advancements, transparency and civic amenities of the Islamabad Traffic Police, expressed their commitment to work with the institution to enforce traffic laws, create awareness and promote road safety.
The program will proceed in phases, during which the students will also be taken to visit other divisions of the Islamabad Police, including Security, Crime Investigation, and Community Policing, so that they can better understand the broader scope of policing.

This initiative by the Islamabad Traffic Police is an important effort to connect the younger generation with law enforcement agencies and raise civic awareness.
