Rawalpindi, 5 March 2023 (TDI): The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia took part in the two-day International Education Summit 2023 on March 4-5, to promote the Indonesian educational system & give access to information on scholarships provided by Indonesian universities.

The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) organized the event with the goal of inspiring Pakistani students with excellent educational opportunities in Pakistan and abroad.

The agenda was to provide a forum for interaction and consultation with representatives and education experts from across Pakistan.

A conference featuring panelists from the corporate sector, practitioners, and education authorities was also organized to examine the difficulties and solutions for raising the standard of education in Pakistan.

The Indonesian Ambassador to Pakistan, Ambassador Tugio, praised RCCI’s initiative in organizing the first-ever educational expo and emphasized the critical function of universities as innovation incubators.

In this vein, he urged the business community to take the initiative by bridging the gap between university lab advances and the markets.

“The expo is also a good opportunity for the Embassy since we can introduce some best universities in Indonesia, especially because many of them offer full scholarships to Pakistani students”, he added.

While For his part, the President of RCCI, Saqib Rafiq reminded the audience that it is crucial to first strengthen Pakistan’s academia in order to have a robust economy.

“Although we have brilliant students, they need to have proper guidance so that they could excel to their full potential”, he further added.

Students from twin cities were curious about the Embassy’s stall because they wanted more information about the educational system and scholarships offered by Indonesian universities.

These included the top five universities in the country according to the QS World University Rankings for 2023.

They are Gajah Mada University (UGM), Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB), University of Indonesia (UI), Airlangga University (UNAIR), and Bogor Agriculture University (IPB).

Embassy representatives provided free advising services to students, including accurate, thorough, and current information on the chances to study at more than 30 authorized Indonesian universities.

Visitors lauded the Embassy’s efforts to provide a forum for students to seek advice on how to apply for a variety of scholarships, which will undoubtedly promote intercultural dialogue and build academic and cultural relations between the two countries.

It is pertinent to note that the majority of students awarded scholarships in 2021 to study in Indonesia were Pakistani students.

As prospective students looked for information to enroll in the top-ranked Pakistani and international universities, more than 30 booths were set up to represent the best universities in Pakistan.

Also, some of the leading universities, colleges, and reputable education consultancies in the world also set up stalls, including NUST, The Millennium Universal College, the University of Management Technology, and SI-UK.
