Indonesia-Vietnam vow to boost trade

Hanoi, 20 October 2021 (TDI): Ambassador Denny Abdi, the Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam, paid a courtesy call to Vietnam’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Bui Thanh Son, pledged to increase trade between Indonesia and Vietnam up to $10 billion.

Bui Thanh Son reaffirmed the importance of effective steps made by the leaders of both countries to enhance cooperation and friendship. In a tweet shared in response to Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscored the significance to reinforce cooperation in politics, diplomacy and economy.

Earlier this month, Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi announced the Ambassador’s visit to Vietnam’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Vietnamese Foreign Minister noted that 65 years of bilateral relations between Vietnam and Indonesia are strong. While Ambassador Abdi on his part stated that both states ought to work closely as both are key members of ASEAN.
