Jakarta, 6 April 2023 (TDI): Indonesia vigorously condemned violence and brutality in the Al-Aqsa Mosque carried out by Israeli forces during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Indonesian Foreign Minister, Retno Marsudi enunciated that this act will create an upsurge in violence in an already unstable region due to the unlawful persecution of Muslims by the Israeli forces.

Additionally, Indonesia urged action from the International Community and the UN to put an end to Israel’s numerous violations of Al-Aqsa and take concrete steps in this regard.

Indonesia has vociferously backed the Palestinian people’s rights and freedoms as well as their struggles and called upon the United Nations (UN) and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on every illicit act towards Palestinian people by Israeli forces.

Indonesia has been a supporter of the Palestinian cause since at least the 1955 Bandung Conference and is in favor of a two-state settlement to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
