Jakarta, 3 December 2021 (TDI): Indonesia has assumed the G20 Presidency for this year. It is the first time that this role has been appointed to Indonesia. The theme will be “Recover Together, Recover Stronger”.
“Recover Together, Recover Stronger”
The theme is derived from the prevalent world scenario and the widespread struggle because of the Covid-19 Pandemic and its aftermath. Indonesia also launched a theme song, synonymous with this year’s theme under Indonesia’s presidency.
Through the song, Indonesia urges the entire world to focus on sustainable development for a stronger & better future and work collectively towards recovery.

Earlier, the logo of Indonesia’s G20 Presidency was also unveiled. It is inspired by the Indonesian art pieces Batik Kawung and Gunungan to depict an ever-growing vine. The logo aims to represent the active role of Indonesia to advance global economic recovery.

This year’s presidency has set three priority issues; Digital Economy Transformation, Energy Transition, and Global Health Architecture. The priorities will serve as a thorough exit policy to promote global recovery along with shaping an adaptive and resilient G20 against future crises.

The G20 is a multilateral strategic platform that connects the developed and emerging economies of the world. It plays a strategic role to secure future global economic prosperity and growth. The G20 member countries represent approximately 80 percent of world GDP as well as 75 percent of the international trade.
