Islamabad, 15 February 2022 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the upcoming visit to Russia of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, will give a boost to the bilateral ties. The Foreign Minister gave these remarks today.
The ties between two countries will strengthen and deepen in multiple sectors, the Foreign Minister added. Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan will hold meetings with the Russian leadership, he further stated.
Bilateral partnerships will be discussed. In this regard, the Foreign Minister highlighted that specifically North-South Gas Pipeline project will also be reviewed.
North-South Gas Pipeline Project
It is a project between Russia and Pakistan on the tapping of the natural resource, gas. Both countries are collaborating for the completion of this mutually beneficial project.
The pipeline holds great significance. The goal is to combat the shortage of gas in Pakistan. Consumption of gas is huge in the domestic, industrial, and power sectors of Pakistan. Hence, the project will help overcome the shortages.
OIC CFM forthcoming meeting
Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi today, additionally shared some more details about the OIC forthcoming meeting. Pakistan will be hosting the 48th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in the federal capital, Islamabad.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi stated that the Foreign Ministers and other dignitaries will be visiting Pakistan on March 22 to attend the meeting. Furthermore, he shared that the Foreign delegates will be also be witnessing the National Day Parade on March 23, 2022.

Pakistan Day is celebrated across the country on March 23. It is a national day that recalls the efforts of leaders and forefathers of the Pakistani nation for passing the ‘ Pakistan Resolution ‘ on March 23, 1940.
