Moscow, 23 February 2022 (TDI): The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan landed in the Russian capital Moscow on February 23. The Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was specially invited by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.

The Pakistani Prime Minister is there for an official two-day visit where he will meet the Russian President. The visit will end on February 24, 2022.

Arrival at the Moscow Airport

The Pakistan Airforce’s (PAF) aircraft having the Prime Minister of Pakistan along with his high-level delegation, landed at the Russian capital Moscow’s airport. Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Igor Morgulov received and welcomed  Imran Khan.

The Prime Minister was warmly welcomed and given a red carpet reception. Not only that but Imran Khan was additionally accorded guard of honor. Prime Minister along with his high-level delegation gracefully made their way and inspected the guard of honor.

The Prime Minister’s Office Pakistan’s official Twitter handle also shared a brief video of the landing of the PAF aircraft having the Prime Minister and his contingent on the Moscow Airport.

The entire world is waiting with bated breath to see how things unfold for the region as well as for the world. An all-out conflict will have a far-reaching impact. Some critics even labeled Imran Khan’s visit to Russia amidst such a crisis an inopportune decision.

As the visit has already begun it is relevant to state that the bilateral summit that will be happening between the two leaders will be the highlight. It is scheduled to be tomorrow.

Meeting with Businessmen 

Prime Minister Imran Khan on his visit to Moscow met the Pakistani and Russian business community. In his address, Prime Minister Imran Khan reflected on Pakistan’s opportunities for business in the country.

While speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan offers opportunities as a market of over 220 million.

According to reports, the prime minister made the remarks while talking to a high-level delegation led by Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister of Russia. Leading figures from Russia’s business community were also present.

According to a statement issued in this regard, the meeting focused on cooperation in the energy sector while economic relations were also discussed.

In a statement, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Russian companies should take advantage of Pakistan’s improved business environment. He hoped that Russian companies would invest in various sectors.

He mentioned the Pak-Russia flagship economic project and reiterated the importance of the Pakistan Stream Gas Pipeline. Energy-related projects were also discussed during the meeting.
