Doha, 29 March 2022 (TDI): Daniel del Valle, the High Representative and the Policy Advisor for Youth participated in the 20th edition of the Doha Forum.

Whilst there, he engaged in dialogue with different international leaders along with speaking on behalf of the Youth at the parallel sessions. Specifically, he highlighted the importance of Future Generations in decision-making.

Daniel del Valle also met with Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, the 4th President of the State of Mongolia on the sidelines of the Doha Forum.

During the meeting with the Mongolian President, he touched upon diverse topics, including Youth as well as his involvement in different areas of the United Nations (UN) & the European Union (EU).

The High Representative for Youth also met Malala Yousafzai during his stay in Doha, UAE. He shared that he was honored to have met her in a tweet.

Malala Yousafzai is a Pakistani Nobel laureate who has always defended the values ​​of women’s empowerment. She is a staunch advocate for girls’ education & women’s equality.

Daniel del Valle, the High Representative also gave an interview to the Stimson Center on the sidelines of the Doha Forum. Stimson is a nonpartisan policy research center working to promote international security, shared prosperity, and justice.

In addition, he also met Catherine Russell, the Executive Director of the UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund). The meeting took place on the margins of the Doha Forum.

During the inauguration dinner of the Doha Forum in the National Museum of Qatar, Daniel del Valle met Miguel Ángel Moratinos, the High Representative for UNAOC and the Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain.

The two discussed issues related to Faith, Freedom of Religion, and Youth. The welcome dinner for the UN community was hosted by the Ambassador of Qatar to the UN, Alya Ahmed Saif Al Thani.

20th Edition of the Doha Forum 

The 20th Edition of the Doha Forum took place from 26 to 27 March 2022. It has the honor of being the world’s first Carbon Neutral Forum. The Forum is an international platform for dialogue.

It aims to bring together leaders in policy for discussing urgent challenges facing the world along with building innovative and action-driven networks.

Doha Forum promotes the interchange of ideas and discourse towards policy making and action-oriented recommendations, under the banner of ‘Diplomacy, Dialogue, Diversity.’

Daniel del Valle is a Political and Youth Advisor to the Ambassador of the Permanent Observer Mission of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the United Nations, New York.

He is based in Madrid, Spain and his primary professional interests include international relations, diplomacy, human rights, law, and economics. Presently, he serves as the official High Representative for Youth of the International Human Rights Foundation.

He also serves as Policy Advisor to the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Slovak Republic to the United Nations in New York. As Policy Advisor he has focused mostly on youth policies in Latin America and Africa.
