Mexico City, 6 October 2021 (TDI): The Mexican Chancellor Marcelo Ebrard; received the Ambassador of the United States, Ken Salazar; regarding the first High Dialogue of Security between both countries; on 8 October.
The meeting will take place at the Foreign Affairs Office, in Mexico; and Ebrard, the Mexican Secretaries of the Security Cabinet, also the Government Secretary, Adán Augusto López Hernández; the Security Secretary and Citizen’s protection, Rosa Icela Rodríguez; the Secretary of National Defense, General Luis Crescencio Sandoval; and also the Marine Secretary, the admiral, José Rafael Ojeda Durán.
For the United States Delegation, the Department of State’s Secretary, Anthony Blinken; the Secretary of National, Alejandro Mayorkas; and also the Secretary of Justice, Merrick Garland.
According to the Media note, the High Dialogue is a reflection of an effective bilateral relation, from mutual respect, strengthens the cooperation for a topic both countries consider important; which is regional security.
It will allow starting a shared security perspective that will be centered on the causes of violence, then how to treat addictions from a public perspective; also about the use of finance intelligence against transnational organized crime organizations, and also to deal with the illegal arms trafficking from the US to Mexico.
The note also mentioned that the High Dialogue, represents a new vision from humanism, this deems important the creation of opportunities, to promote development, to deal with addictions from the public health, the respect of human rights and to strengthen the Rule of Law.
