Yemen’s Presidential Council
Yemen has been in seven years of warfare that have shattered the Yemeni state and left millions suffering from one of the world’s worst humanitarian disasters.
The Presidential Leadership Council is the executive body of Yemen’s internationally recognized government, formed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, by a presidential decree on 7 April 2022, to seek a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni civil war.
It is headed by Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi replacing President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi. All the powers of the President and Vice President have been transferred to this Council.

The Presidential Council consists of members from northern and southern Yemen, an important balance considering the country’s regional divisions, and support for secession, even from within the council itself.
Turkiye and Yemen have very long and deep historical ties spanning from the Ottoman Empire to the modern era. Both the states have exchanged high official visits to each other.
