Tokyo, 27th August 2021 (TDI): Shahana Hajiyeva, Saleh Raman and Vugar Shirinli won Azerbaijan’s first gold medals in the Paralympics in Tokyo 2020.
These were back-to-back titles won for the Azerbaijani nation. Shahan Hajiyeva won after defeating her French opponent Sandrine Martinet in the final of Judo. Shirinli Vugar won the gold medal in Judo and Saleh Raman in Para Swimming.
