Moscow, 13 June 2023 (TDI): Russia celebrated its national holiday, Russian Day, on June 12, 2023, with fervor and enthusiasm. The event was not only celebrated by the Russian government and people but also by other nations throughout the world, who sent words of goodwill and congratulations.
The Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic declared its state sovereignty in 1990, which is celebrated on June 12 each year as Russia Day. This national holiday highlights the history, culture, and unity of Russia.
Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, praised the nation’s people in his speech for their shared sense of patriotism and pride in their country. He emphasized the importance of Russia’s greatness and glory, which influence the development and resiliency of the nation.
Russian President Vladimir Putin attended an award ceremony in the Moscow Kremlin, where he presented the Russian Hero of Labour gold medals and national awards in various fields. This action celebrated the outstanding accomplishments of people in the fields of science, technology, literature, the arts, humanitarian work, altruism, and human rights activism.
At the Russia Day Reception held in London, Andrei Kelin, the Russian ambassador to the UK, gave a heartfelt statement in which he expressed thanks for the long-standing relationship between Russia and the UK.
Despite the difficulties at hand, Ambassador Kelin emphasized the value of respect and cooperation between the two countries, highlighting the deep cultural and humanitarian links that unite them.

Across the Atlantic, the Embassy of Russia in Canada hosted a grand state reception honoring Russia’s national day. The occasion provided a forum for improving bilateral ties and promoting conversation on relevant practical topics of shared interest.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari sent a note of congratulations to the Russian embassy in Pakistan in honor of the 75th anniversary of the start of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The statement emphasised the productive sector-specific collaboration between the two countries.
An important event was witnessed in Pakistan when Mr. Andrey Fedorov, the Russian Federation’s consul general in Karachi, gave a speech highlighting the growing bilateral collaboration and the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Pakistan.
The Russian government and people received the warmest congratulations from the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Russia Day, the nation’s official holiday. The statement expressed gratitude and sincerest greetings for the long-standing relationships between Iran and Russia.
Rt. Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, Special Presidential Envoy (Former Prime Minister), was welcomed by Ambassador Vladlen Semivolos of the Russian Embassy in Uganda to discuss bilateral ties and practical issues.
The summit emphasised the value of Russia and Uganda working together to overcome common challenges and develop diplomatic relations.
Compatriots in Switzerland gathered at the “Suvorov Cross,” a small patch of Russian land among the Alpine peaks, to celebrate their home country’s national holiday. This pleasing occasion emphasized the solidarity and pride that Russian immigrants share.
Russia also received greetings from nations around the world. Dr. S. Jaishankar, the Foreign Minister of India to Sergey Lavrov, as well as to the government and people of the Russian Federation, and he expressed his hope that their Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership would continue.
On Russia’s National Day, Belarus and the United Arab Emirates also offered heartfelt greetings, expressing their best wishes and appreciation for Russia’s rich history and culture.

Furthermore, on June 12, a commemorative plaque was unveiled at the Pasopati Submarine Monument in Surabaya, Indonesia, to honor the friendly Indonesian-Russian relations in the struggle for the territorial integrity of Indonesia.
