Amman, 23 September 2021 (TDI): King Abdullah of Jordan addressed the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly. In the pre-recorded address, he represented his country. The Jordanian monarch stressed the significance of joint action to resolve issues afflicting today’s world.
In his address, he expounded upon the challenges like the rampant vicious conflicts, climate change, the pandemic, and the refugee crisis. On the Palestine issue, he reiterated his state’s stance that a collective effort is required to achieve the two-state solution to safeguard the rights of Palestenian people. The establishment of a sovereign and independent Palestinian state based on the June 1967 lines is the only viable option. He pledged his support and stated that Jordan will keep on preserving the legal and historical rights of Palestinians.
King Abdullah underscored his country’s approach of supporting a mutual and coordinated effort in the resolution of global problems. Jordan has ceaselessly worked to support mutual respect, peace, and progress both regionally as well as internationally. In addition, he stressed the significance of religious unity to acquire peace. He also highlighted the measures adopted by his country to tackle the threat of climate change.
Lastly, he said the world needs to come together to acquire harmony and resolve the prevalent global issues.
