Germany donates COVID-19 treatment to Thailand

-

Bangkok, 1 September 2021 (TDI): The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany donated 2,000 units of Casirivimab/Imdevimab doses to the Royal Thai Government on Tuesday, August 31. It is part of Germany’s humanitarian support to Thailand for the effective treatment of COVID-19 patients. The two countries have supported each other since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak last year including the facilitation of humanitarian repatriation flights.

This support highlights the historic ties between Thailand and Germany with Siam and Prussia signing the Treaty of Amity, Commerce, and Navigation. This unifies efforts both at the government and people-to-people level, bringing unique and dynamic cooperation covering extensive areas of mutual interest including public health.

Thailand and Germany look forward to establishing a stronger and full-fledged partnership and are ready to commemorate the 160th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in the year 2022.
