Tripoli, 9 September 2021 (TDI): The German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas reached Tripoli to attend the Berlin To Libya conference. He will discuss several topics especially the reopening of the German Embassy in Tripoli.
The German Foreign Ministry says that the purpose of this conference is to strengthen the German-Libya diplomatic relations. Germany remains a key partner for promoting peace in Libya. Both nations have worked together to build mutual trust. FM Maas acknowledged that Libya has shown signs of progress and is leading towards the right path. Their next step is to arrange elections and expel the foreign fighters from Libya. Additionally, the Berlin to Libya conference will be a decisive factor in the reopening of the German Embassy in Tripoli.
