London, 8 September 2021 (TDI): The Operation Warm Welcome was announced last week by the United Kingdom (UK) Government. The Government officials have shared views about their efforts to resettle the Afghan expatriates in the UK.
Under this initiative, special teams will put their efforts to provide support to the Afghan community in the UK. Foreign Secretary Raab mentioned that in the latter part of August, their government transferred 15000 people from Afghanistan to the UK.
Home Secretary Priti Patel expressed how difficult it was for her country to complete this mission in such difficult situations. She said that the UK takes it as its responsibility to help these people start a new life. These Afghans stood by their government in the hour of need and now it’s time for the government to help them resettle in the UK.
