Islamabad (TDI): Thomas Fielder, a German diplomat and Second Secretary at the German Embassy, was found dead in his apartment within Islamabad’s Diplomatic Enclave, local officials said on Monday.
Police officials told local media that cause of his death could not be ascertained yet, however, they informed that Thomas Fielder had history of heart disease and previously suffered a minor heart attack.
Police has yet not explained as how the dead body of the German diplomate was discovered, however, there are contradictory reports in this regard.
A newspaper reported that Thomas Fielder’s body was discovered by embassy staff, who became concerned after he had been absent from work for two days.
They broke into his apartment and found him dead. Another report suggested that Islamabad police discovered the body of a German diplomat on Monday in his apartment, located in the Diplomatic Enclave of the Federal Capital.

German Diplomate Shifted for post-mortem
Nevertheless, it is certain that Islamabad Police transported the body to a local hospital for a post-mortem examination.
A post-mortem report will determine the exact cause of death, and police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The German Embassy has been informed, and further details are awaited.
Fielder had been residing in the Diplomatic Enclave, a high-security area where many foreign diplomats live and work.
Meanwhile, media reports suggested that yesterday, a late-night mini-rocket attack targeted the I-9 Police Station in Islamabad, sources revealed. The incident occurred around 11:30 pm when the station’s duty officer reportedly heard an explosion.
Initially, the sound was percieved as a tyre burst and no immediate action was taken.

However, it was not until the morning that the damage became evident. Closer inspection of the station’s wall revealed impact marks, confirming that a mini-rocket-like object had struck the structure.
A bomb disposal team was dispatched to the scene to collect forensic evidence.
