Islamabad, 8 September 2021 (TDI): On Wednesday, the Interior Minister of Pakistan, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad held a meeting with the German Ambassador to Pakistan, Bernhard Schlagheck, and Dutch Ambassador to Pakistan, Wouter Plomp.
During the meeting, the Dutch and German Ambassadors to Pakistan appreciated and thanked the government of Pakistan for its diplomatic efforts in maintaining peace in Afghanistan. Both Ambassadors lauded the efforts of Pakistan particularly regarding the evacuation process including the European citizens from Afghanistan.
The Interior Minister, Sheikh Rasheed briefed about Pakistan’s role in peacekeeping efforts in Afghanistan. He stated that the Pakistani government is providing assistance and support to Afghanis and Pakistan wants Afghanistan to be a secure and stable country along with regional stability.
The matters of mutual interests of Pakistan with the Netherlands and Germany were also the center of discussion during the meeting.
