Lahore, 15 February 2022 (TDI): Bernhard Schlagheck, the Ambassador of Germany, visited the Research and Development facility of Bayer in Lahore.
During his visit, he observed the facility to see technologies underuse in agricultural practices. Moreover, he stated that he was happy to learn yields & incomes have been optimized as a result of such practices.

Bayer AG is a German chemical and pharmaceutical company. It was founded by Friedrich Bayer in 1836 who was a chemical salesman (1825-80) and his friend Friedrich Weskott (1821-76) who owned a dye company.

The pharmaceutical division focuses on prescribed products mainly covering cardiology and women’s health care therapeutics in the areas of oncology, hematology, and ophthalmology.
Whereas the consumers’ health division focuses mainly on non-prescriptive that is (over-the-counter) products in dermatology, nutritional supplements, analgesic, digestive health, cold allergies, sinus, and flu categories.
Bayer & AG operates as a private limited company in Pakistan. The company was incorporated in 1963 and plays a major role in agriculture and health care effectively for the past 58 years.
Bayer & AG headquarters in Pakistan are located in the southern port of Karachi. Geographically it is expanded across the country, with production facilities in Lahore.
The crop science department helps maintain and train the farmers and administer the techniques to yield better crops in general and in a versatile way. Seed and crop protection products are introduced to enable the farmers to sustainable agriculture including farmers’ education and awareness in bringing digital innovations.
