Fourth Arab Mining and Minerals Conference kickstarts in Jordan

Amman, 29 September 2021 (TDI): Hala Zawati opened the two-day fourth Arab Mining and Minerals Conference in Amman. She is the Energy and Mineral Resources Minister of Jordan.

The Minister in her opening remarks said that most of the world realizes the need for sustainable energy resources to curtail Climate Change. It is the first time that the conference is being held in Jordan instead of the UK. She stated that her country was well aware of the threat. Jordan was focused on the implementation of sustainability and innovative mining technologies. In addition to that, she also expressed that Jordan is one of the biggest producers of phosphate, potash, bromine, and chemical acids.

The event was also attended by participants from Mauritania, Iraq, UAE, the US, UK, Australia, and France.
