Beijing, 8 March 2024 (TDI): Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, addressed the press conference on China’s foreign policy and foreign relations, along with global equality in a multipolar world.

He emphasized China’s commitment to China’s foreign policy and global equality in a multipolar world during the second session of the 14th National People’s Congress in Beijing.

Promoting Equality in a Multipolar World

Wang reiterated China’s stance on promoting a multipolar world. He advocated for equal representation and rights among nations.

Emphasizing multilateralism and the United Nations process, he called for an equitable platform for developing countries. Wang, stresses the importance of amplifying the influence of the Global South.

He asserted the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind. Wang highlighted its inclusion in United Nations declarations and the consensus among international institutions.

He underscored the need for an equal and orderly multipolar world. It lacks bloc politics or divisions where every nation has a voice and follows common rules.

In the case of artificial intelligence, Wang emphasized the necessity for balanced development and security measures.

He advocated against exclusive regulations that could impede progress. He proposed an international governance system under the United Nations framework to ensure equitable participation and promote global cooperation in AI.

Advocates Equitable International Relations

Regarding China-US relations, Wang acknowledged improvements but cautioned against lingering misperceptions and unfulfilled promises from Washington.

He emphasized mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation as fundamental principles guiding China’s foreign policy.

In addition to this, Wang underscored the potentially catastrophic consequences of conflict between the two nations.

Additionally, he highlighted China’s mediation efforts in resolving hot spot issues, citing successful initiatives in northern Myanmar and the restoration of Saudi Arabia-Iran ties.

Upholding principles of non-interference, political settlement, impartiality, and dialogue, Wang Yi emphasized the importance of addressing both symptoms and root causes in conflict resolution.

Addressing the Gaza conflict, Wang condemned the humanitarian tragedy. He urged immediate international action to halt civilian casualties and provide humanitarian aid.

He reiterated China’s support for Palestine’s full United Nations membership. Furthermore, he advocated for a two-state solution to achieve lasting peace in the region.
