Yemeni-Yemeni consultations
The Yemeni-Yemeni consultations were held between 29 March and 7 April 2022 in Riyadh under the auspices of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The GCC invited all Yemeni political, tribal, religious leaders, and economists to join talks in Riyadh to propose solutions for the country. Almost all of Yemen’s feuding leaders came together under one building to settle their disputes for the first time in more than a decade.
One of the most important outcomes of the consultations was the formation of the Presidential Leadership Council. The Council will comprise eight people, headed by Rashad Al-Alimi. On 7 April 2022, the former President, Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, passed powers to the new council.
