Foreign Minister of South Korea to visit Thailand

Bangkok, 25 August 2021 (TDI): Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Chung Eui-yong will pay an official visit to Thailand with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Don Pramudwinai on 26 – 28 August 2021 to strengthen the Strategic Partnership between Thailand and the ROK. A courtesy call with Prime Minister of Thailand General Prayut Chan-o-cha will also happen at the Government House.

The discussion focuses on strategies to enhance the Thailand-ROK partnership. They will also exchange views on regional issues of mutual interests. In particular, will be about partnership for green growth and the environment, public health, and development of future industries with a view to supporting economic and social recovery in the post-COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the visit of assuming office as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the ROK in February 2021, this will be Eui-yong’s first visit to the country. Strict compliance with the country’s COVID-19 prevention measures will be followed.
