Phnom Penh, 5 August 2022 (TDI): On the sidelines of the 29th ASEAN Regional Forum Foreign Ministers Meeting in Phnom Penh today, Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met with his Vietnamese counterpart, Bùi Thanh Son.

The two Foreign Ministers discussed bilateral ties between Pakistan and Vietnam and emphasized the two nations’ long history of friendship and goodwill.
They expressed happiness at the continuous growth of mutually beneficial collaboration in numerous sectors against the backdrop of the 50th-anniversary celebrations of bilateral ties.
In addition, the duo reaffirmed their commitment to fostering cooperation in a number of areas, including commerce and investment, tourism, education, public administration, and the encouragement of intercultural exchanges.
It is pertinent to note that Vietnam is a key partner in the ASEAN Regional Forum, and Pakistan values its relations with Vietnam. This was stated by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Additionally, he gave the Vietnamese Foreign Minister an update on Pakistan’s relations with ASEAN and its ongoing commitment to ARF.
Along these lines, enhancing high-level interactions and communication between the two nations was agreed upon by the two Foreign Ministers.
29th ASEAN Regional Forum Foreign Ministers Meeting
The three-day long 29th Ministerial Meeting of the Association of South East Asian Nations Regional Forum known as ARF began in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Thursday.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is leading the delegation of Pakistan at the session. Furthermore, the meeting will be attended by the Foreign Ministers as well as Representatives of the 27 ARF member states.
Pakistan and Vietnam enjoy mutually beneficial as well as close toes. The two countries cooperate in a multitude of fields like economy, trade, and education.
