Davos, 18 January 2023 (TDI): The Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, held bilateral meetings with various dignitaries from around the world on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos.

The 53rd meeting of WEF is taking place from January 16 to 20, 2023. Bilawal is attending at the invitation of the Forum’s President, Børge Brende.

Foreign Minister is accompanied by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar during the visit. Bilawal and the State Minister will participate in several WEF events on contemporary global and regional issues.

WEF annually brings together political and business leaders to identify pathways to overcome economic, social, and environmental challenges. This year the theme of the forum is “Cooperation in a Fragmented World.”

WEF is discussing several themes for the annual meeting: sustainability, economic growth and resilience, and energy and globalization.

Additionally, the forum will provide a platform to engage in constructive dialogues & help find solutions through public-private cooperation.

Meeting with WEF founder

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met with Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, on Tuesday.

Bilawal thanked the Chairman for Pakistan’s long-standing relationship with the World Economic Forum. He also discussed invigorating Pakistan’s economy and promoting international cooperation.

Meeting with Chinese Vice Premier

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Tuesday met Chinese Vice Premier, Liu He at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Switzerland.

Both parties discussed Pakistan and China’s multifaceted economic cooperation. They agreed to maintain close coordination in order to strengthen the two countries’ mutually beneficial partnership.

Meeting with Spanish Foreign Minister

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, the European Union (EU), and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Albares Bueno. During the meeting, the two Foreign Ministers discussed bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interest.

Bilawal appreciated the Spain and European Union as Pakistan’s steadfast partners and their support at the recently held International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan held in Geneva.
